Do you manage to eat healthy on a daily basis?
Two ounces of vegetables and two pieces of fruit? Those who can say a resounding yes to this, are unfortunately among the exception. But even if you can, the question is whether you are getting enough vitamins.
Due to the method of cultivation and as a result of genetic modifications, today's fruits and vegetables contain far fewer vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants than they used to. The result: a deficiency and a negative effect on your health and resistance.
Time to give yourself a boost with an (extended) Myers Cocktail infusion. You can do this at the Better Clinic.
What is a Myers Cocktail or Intravenous Vitamin Therapy?
In the 1960s, Dr. John Myers, an internist at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, first combined a number of vitamins and minerals into a "cocktail."
Intravenous vitamin therapy is the intravenous administration (directly into the bloodstream through a thin IV needle) of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants to the patient.
The purpose of this treatment is to deliver these substances in a high concentration to the body's cells in a way that skips the stomach and intestines.
All vitamins and minerals that enter the body through the mouth via food must first be absorbed in the small intestine after which they are filtered in the liver. This process is called the "first-pass effect" and can make vitamins and minerals less effective or even ineffective.
It is impossible to achieve the same concentrations in the blood with dietary supplements than can be achieved through vitamin infusion. Moreover, large amounts of vitamins and minerals taken orally (by mouth) can result in stomach upset and diarrhea. It is believed that only 10-25% of what is ingested eventually reaches its destination.
With intravenous treatment, the intestines and liver are bypassed. Thus, problems with poor absorption are avoided and a high dose can be given safely and effectively.
Vitamins and minerals are the foundation the body needs to function optimally.
Why a vitamin infusion?
A vitamin or mineral deficiency can aggravate or even cause many chronic conditions. That vitamin infusions can improve chronic conditions is the experience of doctors worldwide who have devoted themselves to this type of treatment.
We see a great need for this type of supplementation in patients who heal poorly, have a poor diet, are under a lot of stress, sleep poorly, smoke, have little exercise or are just physically exhausted from too much exercise.
For patients who have difficulty digesting food (have poor pH in the stomach, "leaky gut" syndrome or have had gastrointestinal surgery) there is almost always poor absorption of micronutrients. This can lead to a variety of symptoms, such as lethargy, energy deficiencies, anemia, muscle cramps, etc.
