These are professional associations that stand for quality and expertise. Members must meet strict requirements in terms of knowledge and continuing education. Because BeterKliniek meets these quality requirements, most health insurers reimburse (part of) the cost of the consultations if you have additional insurance.

Reimbursement for dietary supplements, blood, saliva, stool and urine tests rarely, if ever, take place.
Sometimes your employer (through the company doctor or Occupational Health and Safety Service or otherwise) is willing to reimburse a portion of the cost.

Health Insurance Ombudsman and the Health Insurance Disputes Committee

If the specialist treating you says nothing can be done about your illness and a second opinion indicates the same, your illness is considered untreatable. If you subsequently succeed in curing the disease at your own expense, you can try to have the costs incurred reimbursed by the health insurance company through the Health Insurance Ombudsman and the Health Insurance Disputes Committee. See the website of the Stichting Klachten en Geschillen Zorgverzekeringen. The SKGZ is an independent and impartial organization that can help solve problems between you and your health insurer. This can be through mediation or a binding decision. Gather as much evidence as possible and have an expert inform you well in advance.
